GOVERNOR HOPEFUL’S CAMPAIGN TAKES A BREAK WHILE WEDDING BELLS RING FOR
BILL HALTER AND BRIDE

Palo Alto, CA – At 3pm PST wedding bells will ring for North Little Rock’s Bill Halter who just one week earlier officially kicked off his campaign for Governor of Arkansas.

Halter, 45, will marry Shanti Patching, 33, of Elk Grove, CA in a traditional Catholic ceremony at Stanford University's Memorial Chapel.

About 125 friends and family members are expected to attend the service this afternoon in Palo Alto, CA.

Following the ceremony, “Mr. and Mrs. Halter will embark on a ‘mini-moon’, secret to most, especially his campaign staff,” joked campaign spokesman Bud Jackson. “We look forward to Bill and Shanti returning to Arkansas sometime next week.”

Halter’s father William A. Halter, Sr. will be his best man.  Halter’s mother, Nancy J. Halter, passed away in 1994.  The groomsmen are: Charles Halter (brother); Mark Halter (longtime friend, not related); Clint Henson; Richard Klingler; and Robert Shapiro.

Patching, who is from California, will be walked down the aisle and given away by her father, Roger Patching.  She will also be joined by her mother Tamara Wilson and her Matron-of-Honor, Heather Grossman.  Other bridesmaids include: Aimee Ahiers, Kimberly Alegre, Sue Ghneim, Suzanne Haslam and Torra Yianilos.

The bride’s brother, Destry Patching will be the Head Usher.  Halter’s seven nieces and nephews are also part of the ceremony: Ring Bearers, Helen Halter and  Rob Hinck; Flower Girl, Natalie Hinck; Junior Ushers, JaneAnne Halter, Thomas Halter, Allison Hinck and Ashley Hinck.

Readers of the Liturgy of the Word are the bride and groom’s friends, Margaret Meehan and Steven Beckham.  Halter’s brother-in-law, Robert Hinck will offer the Prayer of the Faithful.  Lighting of the Family Candle will be performed by the bride’s mother Tamara Wilson and the groom’s sister, Jan Hinck.

The campaign hopes to release a wedding photo by Monday.
