Well, it was just the right thing to do.

Bill decided to run for Lt. Governor because he didn't want to wage a negative campaign against a fellow Democrat that could have the unfortunate and unintended consequence of helping Asa Hutchinson.  Also, when it came right down to it, had he continued his campaign for Governor it would have forced both Attorney General Beebe and our campaign to spend millions of dollars -- money that could be better spent helping Democrats' chances of beating Asa Hutchinson and recapturing the Governor's Mansion.

So now, our campaign is focused on doing everything we can to elect the best qualified candidate for Lt. Governor and the best positioned candidate able to offer the strongest ticket to help elect Mike Beebe Governor.

Since Bill started running for Lt. Governor, there has been a tidal wave of phone calls and e-mails to the campaign, virtually all of it extremely positive.  Many folks who could not help before are now eagerly signing-up and pledging support.  We are thankful!

For now, we are focused on the same issues that are important for Arkansas: striving to make our schools excellent rather than just settle to have them adequate; building and attracting the better-paying jobs of the 21st Century.  Of course, you can visit our issues section on the website here to learn more about Bill's positions on the issues.

Finally, we are running hard and strong now boosted by a new wave of support.  Bill has been on the road daily visiting Arkansans all across the state. He has been on the road a lot lately to many places including Fayetteville, Hot Springs, Fort Smith, Newport and Batesville, to name a few.  Not to mention all the visits with people in and around Little Rock. We are adding staff.  Adding volunteers. And adding to our outreach efforts.
